One day, Jung Sook bumps into a man dressed in traditional Korean clothing who accidentally drops a piece of literature. Jung Sook partly sees the man's face and instantly ends up madly infatuated with the mysterious man. Sometime later, Jung Sook and her friends spend fun time at a bar when a police raid headed by Hyuk Joon comes up. Although at fault, Jung Sook questions Hyuk Joon’s authority and both parties get an unfavorable impression on each other. They were surprised to find out later that they have been arranged to marry.

Despite his feelings, Hyuk Joon agrees to the thought of fixed marriage in compliance to his duties as their generation’s first born. On the other hand, Jung Sook agrees to the marriage as an escape to college life since she’s not fond of studying and hopes to keep a carefree lifestyle. Secretly, she starts falling in love with Hyuk Joon but both agree to keep boundaries in their marriage.

Jung Sook soon feels sad living the life of a full-time housewife as her friends tattle and enjoy about single hood and college life. She also starts to feel uneasy upon knowing her new friend, Lawyer Moon Ga Young (Lee Da Hae, from My Girl, Miss Ripley, Hello! MissEast of Eden, Green Rose) is actually Hyuk Joon's ex-girlfriend who's very determined to win back Hyuk Joon.

Thoughts of the Blogger

Although a number of Korean dramas used fixed marriage as a plot springboard, it shows how marriage works when the more matured person in the relationship steps in with genuine effort to make the relationship work and puts the spouse as the priority.  Old flames are usual cause of misunderstandings but in this drama, Hyuk Joon  did everything he can to remove himself from a situation that may otherwise be misinterpreted by the old flame as an act of "leading on" - he remained a perfect gentleman while clearly pushing back an aggressive ex-girlfriend. Yes, misunderstandings still came up but he still controlled the situation pretty well.
