King 2 Hearts

King 2 Hearts is an action-romance Korean drama about South Korean Crown Prince Lee Jae Ha (Lee Seung Gi from My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Shining Inheritance) who falls in love with a North Korean Special Agent, Captain Kim Hang Ah (Ha Ji Won from Secret Garden, Ba:Bo, 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant, Ditto).

Lee Jae Ha does not seem to put much thought on his next-in-line King status and would rather live a carefree life. Because of this, his older brother, King Lee Jae Kang (Lee Sung Min) tricks him in signing up for the South and North Korea Unified team in preparation for the World Officer Championship, in hopes that the training might mold Jae He to be more responsible.

At the camp, Jae Ha meets his Northern Korean female team mate, Kim Hang Ah, who despite being a highly capable soldier, worries much about her lack of potential marriage partner.  In fact, Hang Ah is enticed into joining the team in exchange of being paired with an eligible bachelor. During the training, Jae Ha and Hang Ah start off on a rough road with Jae Ha being obnoxious to all his team mates especially to Hang Ah. Meanwhile, Hang Ah remains focused on training and periodically spends time bonding with their teammates and even coyly takes interest in another team member from South Korea, Eun Shi Kyung (Jo Jung Suk from Architecture 101), the son of the Royal Family’s Secretary, Eun Kyu Tae (Lee Soon Jae from My Princess, Beethoven Virus, Coffee House, Stars Falling From the SkyMy Girl and I, Princess Lulu, A Thousand Kisses, Sweet 18). At that time, Jae Ha feels pangs of jealousy but tries to brush aside his feelings for Hang Ah.

After training, Jae Ha assumes his role in the Royal family and appoints Shi Kyung as his right hand, initially with thoughts of making him suffer due to Shi Kyung’s closeness with Hang Ah. Meanwhile, Club M’s CEO John Mayer/Kim Bong Gu (Yoon Je Moon from Iris) is after the Kingship of South Korea and tries to bring chaos by making up a story on a supposed relationship between Jae Ha and Hang Ah. Instead of denying the rumor, Jae Ha confirms his feelings for Hang Ah and the two went public about their soon engagement. Not long after this incident, John Mayer causes even graver damage to the Royal Family – killing King Jae Kang and his wife, and abducting Princess Lee Jae Shin (Lee Yoon Ji, celebrity wife of Super Junior member Kang In from reality show We Got Married, also starred in Dream High, and Princess Hours) which later causes the Princess’ paralysis, trauma and selective amnesia.

Immediately after King Jae Kang’s death, Jae Ha steps up as the new King and tries everything in his power to preserve peace in Korea, together with the help of Hang Ah.

First Love
(Lee Yoon Ji)

At first, we were like friends, like special lovers
The moment I placed your heart in my heart
My childish first love believed that
My fluttering heart will become destiny

I was happy just by breathing
It was a sunlight-like love
I thought that we would be forever
But it remains as memories

* Now the pained heart, the sad tears can lean on my cheek
It’s alright if the scars in my memories remain all over my body

** My heart chose you first, my first love is enough
I’ll protect it forever, my first love

Your electrifying and magical kiss
That was how the fluttering started in my heart
As if the love that was hot as fireworks are whispering
My first love dreamed of the future

Your smile makes me smile
It was a starlight-like love
It was just all good, it was like that back then
Beautiful times

* Repeat
** Repeat

I love you, my happy first love
